Laser cleaning uses precisely controlled energy to remove rust, coatings and surface contamination without abrasive blasting media. A concentrated, coherent laser source produces a powerful Gaussian-profile beam which cleans the surface through a process called laser ablation. This highly controlled process can be adjusted to selectively remove individual layers, prepare surfaces for inspection or coating, and clean sensitive areas with minimal impact on the underlying material.
